Julia Perks was a talented and dedicated paediatric nurse who identified the need for facilities and services for children with life-limiting and life-threatening illnesses in the area, and particularly sought to raise awareness of the need for more respite for the families of these children. Following her sad and premature death from cancer in 1997, Julia’s family, friends and colleagues took up the mantle and set up the Julia Perks Foundation, now known as Julia’s House, the Dorset Children’s Hospice. Now caring for over 100 children in their hospice or the wider community, and with a second hospice planned in Wiltshire, Breathe Safety are pleased to be able to support the great work they have started.
Breathe Safety will be taking over the in-house workshop for all Respiratory Protective and Confined Space Equipment at one of the largest single site chemical plants in the UK, from the 27th May 2015, as part of a programme for increased efficiency.
The annual output of the site is over 250,000 tonnes of which 84% is exported. The site primarily manufactures products used to enhance industrial processing in various industries such as papermaking, mining, oil extraction, wastewater treatment and textile processing. It also manufactures ingredients that are used in home and personal care products such as thickening agents. The site is approximately 50 acres with 11 main production facilities. It has an excellent safety and environmental record and enjoys strong links with the local community.

Breathe Safety's ever growing plant list now includes a mobile high pressure breathing air compressor. We have utilized one of the largest high pressure compressors available for charging applications , fitted it into a mobile trailer unit in conjunction with a bespoke water cooling and filtration system. The control panel allows filling to 200 or 300 bar, and includes a control system for ensuring air quality is maintained at the highest level. With a 700 litre per minute filling rate , it is designed to quickly fill breathing air trailers and large capacity cylinder storage banks.
The system compliments Breathe Safety's on site support package for large scale events, where uptime of equipment needs maximisation, and comes with a skilled operator to ensure the success of the operation. The trailer system is available for hire or as part of a complete Turnarouind/ Shutdown Support package.
