TESTING LABORATORY

Breathe Safety has been established in the Respiratory Protective Device (RPD) market since 2001 and is recognised as a customer focused market leader. It all started with hiring, selling, servicing and providing training on RPDs for many industries including petrochemical, pharmaceutical and utilities.

 

As the company grew, natural progression and this firm technical foundation led us to establish an ISO 17025 accredited testing laboratory (No. 8856) specialising in the testing of RPDs. We gained accreditation in 2016 and since then have been committed to continuous development of both the laboratory personnel and the scope of tests that we carry out.

In 2022 Breathe Laboratory split away to form an independent business unit within the Breathe Safety Group Ltd. Our aim is simple: To become the Respiratory Protective Device testing laboratory of choice in Europe.

Breathe Laboratory offers the following services to clients wishing to bring a CE/UKCA certified product to market:

  • CE/UKCA Type Approval Testing

  • Pre-approval and development testin

  • Testing to suit bespoke client requirements and procedures

  • CE/UKCA Technical File composition support

  • CE/UKCA Certification facilitation through partner Notified Bodies

We are able to conduct testing to a wide range of respiratory standards including:

  • EN136              Full face masks

  • EN137              Self-contained breathing apparatus

  • EN140              Half masks

  • EN143              Particulate filters

  • EN149              Filtering half masks to protect against particulates

  • EN402              Escape breathing apparatus with a demand valve

  • EN1146            Escape breathing apparatus with a hood

  • EN12941          Powered RPE with a helmet/hood

  • EN12942          Powered RPE with a mask

  • EN14593-1       Airline breathing apparatus with a demand valve

  • EN14594          Constant flow airline breathing apparatus

In addition to the above European standards, Breathe Laboratory provide testing to NIOSH standards for US marketed products, other regional standards and ISO standards.
